Course Overview

 

In order to manage an effective team, we need to understand the factors impacting on team
dynamics and how as a team leader you can motivate your team members to achieve the team
goals.

 

The workshops has plenty of time assigned to group discussion to allow the delegates to discuss topics in detail as this will help them embed the learning.  This workshops also comes with a 1 hour follow up coaching session via phone or skype for each delegate to discuss their actions and outcomes.

 

 

Course Prerequisites

 

The only prerequisite for delegates to attend this workshop is that they are already working in a supervisory or team leader role.

  • Be able to describe what an effective team looks like

  • Understand the stages that a team goes through and how to recognise what stage your team is at

  • Understand motivational theory and how it impacts on team individuals

  • Describe the key factors for running a successful team

  • What does an effective team look like to you?

 

Section 2

  • The stages a team will go through usin the Belbin model

 

Section 3

  • Why is motivation so important to creating an effective team?

  • What motivates you and your team?

  • How to recognise a demotivated team member and how to bring about change

 

Section 4

  • How to run a successful team - everyone has a part to play

  • Communication is key

 

Section 5

  • Creating an action plan

  • Working with SMART objectives

  • Delegation

  • Follow up and feedback

 

 

This workshop is limited to a maximum of eight delegates and we encourage casual dress for the day. The workshop does incorporate an element of pre-course reading which is essential to its success. All learning materials and full support materials are provided via access to our virtual learning environment together with online evaluation and post-course follow-up.

Our workshops can be run on-site or at a convenient public location (we will even sort out room hire for you if needed), across Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Norfolk and Suffolk.
