Mental Health in the Workplace - Level 1 (VTQ)

This half day workshop is designed as an awareness course looking at Mental Health in the Workplace.  it is designed for all levels of staff and gives a great overview of this topic.

Individual topics include:-

  • Understand the difference between mental health and mental ill health.

  • Describe the components of mental well-being and how it relates to resilience.

  • Understand how risk factors associated with mental ill health can lead to problems in the workplace.

  • Be able to recognise how mental health problems can affect day-to-day living

  • Understand how social and cultural attitudes can lead to mental illness

  • Understanding causes of stress and knowing how stress can stem from influences resulting from work

  • Be able to understand different types of mental health

Mental Health in the Workplace - Level 2 (VTQ)

This full day workshop is ideal for all levels of employees/team leader and management to give them a better understanding of Mental Health in the Workplace.

Emotional Intelligence at Work

Emotional Intelligence a key skill to have in all aspects of your work and home life. It helps us work better with our colleagues, reduces stress, increases our resilience and helps us hugely when supervising or managing a team. 

 

This introductory course looks at the 5 aspects of Emotional Intelligence;

  • Explain what Emotional Intelligence is

  • Recognise how and why emotions affect you

  • Identify how emotionally intelligent you are

  • Identify your areas of development

Effective Conflict Management

As we all know, at work people disagree, this course is designed to support your team in understanding the importance of conflict management and how to effectively deal with conflicts that arise in the workplace. 

Key topics include:

 

  • The different types of conflict

  • Signs of conflict

  • Causes of conflict

  • Appropriate responses to conflict

  • ​Developing a proactive strategy

  • Communication and influencing skills

  • Prevention of conflict

Using Assertive Behaviour

Having a lack of confidence at work can cause you big problems and you can sometimes find yourself saying 'yes' to tasks that don't belong to you.  You may feel it is easier to say 'yes' than to be assertive and say 'no'.

  • Definitions of assertive behaviour

  • Behaviour patterns - aggressive and passive

  • Your self awareness of personal barriers to being more assertive

  • Why others behave the way they do?

Stress Management - Building Resilience

Stress at work is part of the H&S Directive and is a topic we should all take seriously. With Mental Health high on the agenda in so many organisations it is essential that we can recognise our own stress triggers and understand how we can build resilience to stress. 

Topics covered in this workshop include:

  • What is stress?

  • What is resilience?

  • How to recognise stress within yourself?

  • Understanding your triggers

  • Ways to deal with stress

  • Recognising stress within others

All of our trainers are all highly experienced in their chosen field as well as being qualified professional trainers.  They all incorporate:-

 

  • managed group discussions

  • workbook content (as an aide memoir)

  • ‘real life examples’ to work through

  • action plan to help delegates implement their learning

As with all Green Shoots Learning workshops delegates will receive;

  • note pad and pen

  • any additional course resources will be provided electronically

  • an online evaluation will be carried out post-workshop

  • a full report on evaluation results will be provided to the client

  • follow up on the action cards will be carried out and reported on 4-6 weeks following the workshop
