It was great to welcome fifteen local businesses to our second "learning about …." event which took place at Suffolk Food Hall on Wednesday 14 November.
The breakfast event was an opportunity for businesses to learn more about the Office 365 platform and how it can help them communicate better, collaborative more, reduce risk and provide better customer care.
With both Chris Joberns of Strident Computers and Lorna Rose of Green Shoots Learning giving presentations it was an engaging and interactive morning.
Chris covered moving to Office 365 and why a business would want to do this. This included looking at technical features such as e-discovery, single sign on, email encryption and the new teams phone system. His presentation was light and easy to understand, without jargon and he took a lot of questions from the floor.
Lorna then went on to showcase a number of the end user tools available in Office 365 which businesses might want to implement. She took the group through the key elements of SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, Flow, Forms, Yammer, Delve, Sway, Planner and Bookings. Unfortunately, there wasn't time to do full demonstrations but there was enough content to get businesses thinking about what tools could help their business.
Lorna and Chris also spoke about the importance of planning your move to Office 365 and considering what tools are going to best help the business. They suggested speaking to employees first to find out what challenges they faced to become more productive and efficient and then look at what tools could help improve this.
The feedback from the businesses who attended was great and there were lots of ideas about how people could move forwards with the platform, and use more than just email.
