Course Overview

 

This two day workshop is designed for professionals who are involved in providing in-house staff training and who wish to enhance their ability to train others. The course provides a greater understanding of learning styles, learning technologies and workshop planning. It also provides a fantastic opportunity to practice delivery in a completely safe environment and to hone your skills.

 

 

Overall Aim

 

The aim of the workshop is for delegates to be able to plan, create, deliver and evaluate effective in-house training that achieves its goals.

  • To be able to name and discuss the key learning theories that help us understand how people learn

  • To be able to create a workshop where learning theories are considered to achieve the best outcome from the workshop

  • To be able to plan a course thinking about key objectives and outcomes

  • To be able to describe the different learning technologies and teaching activities now available

  •  Recognise how team dynamics can impact on the success of the training

  • To understand the importance of linking a teaching plan to specific learning outcomes

  • To demonstrate how to present in an engaging way

  • To understand the importance of evaluation and reflection in the training environment and be able to describe the most suitable tools for this

  • Learning Theories

  • Understanding the difference between deep and surface learning

  • Cognitive viewpoint

  • Behaviourist viewpoint

  • Multiple intelligences

 

The Importance of Aims & Objectives

  • The difference between an Aim and an Objective

  • The importance of setting these to help with evaluation


Different Teaching Formats
